Chelsea were back in training today (Friday) after a day off on Thursday, and will likely continue training through the weekend as if we still have our regular game scheduled for Sunday. His postponement gives new head coach Graham Potter a few extra days to work with the squad, before the majority of the squad departs on international duty.
Chelsea’s official website has some photos from Friday’s ‘training session’, which included an epic header tennis match. Luckily, we even have a video of this thing, and it’s a lot of fun indeed, with a 4v4 challenge and then an elimination challenge – won by Thiago Silva as the last man standing. (My friends and I used to play an elimination game similar to ping pong; super fun and cool to see Chelsea players having fun with this version.)
The other notable element of yesterday’s training was the reported inclusion of full-backs Dylan Williams and Dion Rankine, defender Bashir Humphreys and highly promising midfielder Ben Elliott. Always good to see the next generation!
The Chelsea players were back in training at Cobham today after a rest/recovery Thursday.
There was involvement in the academy with Dylan Williams, Bashir Humphreys, Dion Rankine and Ben Elliott training with the first-team stars. https://t.co/5M9kZoLM1A
