Oliver’s pickleballers clean up at the tournament

Members of the Oliver Pickleball Club recently won eight medals at the Regency Kelowna Pickleball Open Tournament.

Players come from all over the province and other parts of the country to participate and Oliver’s players have proven to be contenders in many categories.

Here is the list of Oliver club medalists:

• Steve Tidder and Kieth Quesnelle (men’s doubles gold, 60+)

• Janet Shaw (women’s singles gold)

• Barry Tremblay and Stephen Kushner (men’s doubles silver, 60+)

• Michelle Tremblay and Barry Tremblay (silver of proficiency age mixed doubles, 60+)

• Hellen Tidder and Steve Tidder (mixed doubles silver, 60+)

• Michelle Tremblay and Janet Shaw (women’s doubles silver, 60+)

• Terri Williams and Kham Douangpanya (mixed doubles bronze, 50+)

• Leah Schulting and Sunny Sidhu (mixed doubles bronze)

These victories come just a month after the opening of Oliver’s first dedicated outdoor pickleball courts, located next to the tennis courts. Public time on the courts is most afternoons.
