Iconic venue named for 2024 Olympics tennis

Roland Garros will host the 2024 Olympics tennis tournament where Alexander Zverev and Belinda Bencic hope to retain their Japan titles in 2021

The French Open site will become an Olympic site for 10 days from July 24 to August 4, with the Paris site set to host the Paris 2024 tennis tournament.

The tournament will feature men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles while the Tokyo champions at the last tennis Olympics will only have to wait 3 years to defend their titles due to these games being held. take place in 2021 rather than 202o due to the COVID pandemic forcing a one-year delay.

The Olympic singles event is the only major title that has eluded Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, but as the Swiss will be 43 when the tournaments start, it’s unlikely he can achieve that dream. Djokovic will only be 37 in 2024, however.

Tickets are already on sale for the event which may be bought here.

Tennis only became a sport in its own right at the 1988 Games in Seoul. Andy Murray is the only player to win two singles gold medals and the only singles player to retain the Olympic title.
