Moga Festival returns to real life Astapor, but unlike game of thronesthere probably won’t be a dance with dragons here.
Instead, the port city of Essaouira in Morocco, where scenes from the fictional game of thrones place Astapor were filmed, will host more than 50 artists at SOFITEL Essaouira Mogador Golf & Spa.
Polo & Pan, DJ Tennis, Lee Burridge, Alyssa & Gia and many other DJs from the worlds of techno and house music find themselves on the decks of Windy City in Africa.

In A dance with dragonsGeorge RR Martin wrote, “Brick and blood built Astapor, and brick and blood its people.” However, despite the franchise’s grainy description, in reality Essaouira is more closely associated with being a destination for yoga retreats and kite surfing.
To this end, Moga also offers festival-goers the opportunity to learn about Morocco’s cultural pasts by offering attendees specialized cooking classes, yoga workshops, and more.
The five-day event in Essaouira will start on September 28 and run until October 3. Tickets and travel packages for MOGA are on sale now.
