With 25 teams of four golfers each, the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce only has room for three more teams at its annual golf tournament this Friday at the Dunes Golf & Tennis Club in Sanibel.
A new car is online.
A hole-in-one on hole 17 of the course will net one lucky golfer a new Kia vehicle, courtesy of Galeana Kia in Fort Myers.
“That should be great” Jacki Liszak, president of the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce, said. “The girls are packing goody bags as we speak.”
Goodie bags will include coupons for local restaurants and businesses, as well as golf balls. There will be free towels and shirts for each participant. Orange juice and muffins will also be served.

There will be prizes and games at each of the golf course’s 18 holes, Liszak said. Activities will include dice rolling and bottle prizes.
Prizes and trophies will be awarded for the longest route and closest to the start.
There will be Chinese raffle prizes including gift baskets, a Schwinn bicycle, umbrellas, beach chairs, artwork and tickets to the Edison Ford Winter Estates.
An online silent auction is underway and will end Friday at 4:30 p.m. The auction is open to the public and features stays at local resorts, golf outings, discounts at local restaurants and more. For more information on the auction, contact the chamber at 239-454-7500.
Liszak said this year’s tournament is shaping up to be the chamber tournament “greatest of all time” with around 100 people signed up to play on a course known to be surrounded by an abundance of water.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the tournament begins at 9 a.m. The registration cost is $200 per person and $550 for a team of four. The tournament sponsor is Glass Design, which will award a glass door to those who log on to a hole-in-one.
Anyone can enter.
“It’s residents, businesses, golf league people, everyone is welcome,” Liszak said. Players entered from Fort Myers Beach, Bonita Springs and Sanibel.
“It’s going to be fun” Liszak said.
