Amy Schneider is the last Danger juggernaut to win the prestigious Game Show Tournament of Champions.
“I feel amazing,” Schneider said in a statement. “Earlier in the final I had this sudden moment of seeing myself and being like, ‘I’m on stage in the Tournament of Champions final’, and that was crazy. And I won! That’s a great feeling.”
Schneider is no stranger to Danger Fans. His 40-game winning streak from November 2021 to January this year is just behind current host Ken Jennings’ record 74 games. His opening earnings, meanwhile, were $1,382,800 – the fourth-highest regular-season total.

In the final round of the tournament, Schneider faced Andrew He (whose five-game winning streak she initially broke with her first victory in November 2021) and Sam Buttrey. Impressively, Schenider managed to take the win despite missing daily doubles in the final game. He won all three but was still trailing heading into Final Jeopardy, where Schneider is often strong.
The Final Jeopardy clue was, “January 12, 1864 Washington Evening Star reported on a performance of this “dazzling comedy” before “a full and delighted house”. “The correct answer was Our American cousin. He and Schneider both guessed correctly, but He bet $2,801 while Schneider bet $13,000, securing him the win with a final score of $28,600.
“I both wanted [compete against him] and was afraid to face him again,” Schneider said of his rematch with He. “I knew he was one of the best competitors in the peloton. He was definitely someone I knew could beat me because he almost did before, and he did it a few times here too. All three of us really could have won if a very few things had gone differently. I’m glad we had a really fair chance to test our skills against each other, and I would love to play against him again one day, one way or another.”
Schneider is the first openly transgender contestant to play and win the Tournament of Champions.
